One of the things keeping me busy recently is trying to source copyright free images for use in educational material. Despite excellent sites like Flickr for example, where lots of people upload images under ‘creative commons’ it’s still a very time consuming (through from my perspective enjoyable) task.

It’s not so much that there aren’t enough images available. It’s much more finding ‘just the right one’.

1. When I go to my blog, there is no ‘Admin’ login – I’ve got to go to another site to log in.

2. I tried to add categories, but the system consistently refused to add them to the database.

3. I added a new link, but it does not show up anywhere.

I’m used to a bit more functionality using “my other blog” at:

https://shsc-int.brookes.ac.uk/blogs/elearning/

It would be nice to be able to make it a bit more user friendly.

I’m having a problem with keeping up here, which might be indicative of the struggle to get my work done and at the same time trying to use this blog to keep a record …

Within the framework of a project I’m currently attempting to understand how “e-learning is delivered in my institution”, which refers to the University, and – exploring what’s going on in other schools within Brookes – I’m discovering that there’s a huge spectrum with respect to delivery across the University …

This was a nice surprise – an invitation to set up my own blog.

Thank you, Jim! And thank you, Rosemary Philllimore! (Who I have never met.)

I’ve got one in my role as a learning technologist in the School of Health and Social Care already – but it’s on our intranet, and hence only to be viewed by Brookes folks.

Don’t know how I’m going to cope with running several blogs, but this one can be different. I’ll see.
